Our good neighbours at McDonald’s

We’re really proud to work closely with the McDonald’s UK & Ireland head office, based on the High Road in East Finchley. As part of this, we had the chance to speak to Roshan Chagani, who manages the Staff Restaurant at the office, about how the team supports Finchley Foodbank and the wider ways they like to get involved in the local community.

Roshan said: “Just like any McDonald’s restaurant across the country, building strong relationships with our local community is really important to us. We’ve been collecting for Finchley Foodbank since September 2023 and are proud to have donated thousands of essential food items to help people who need them most.

“We collect donations from colleagues across the business, which covers a real mix of roles – from operations and legal to marketing and beyond. With so many people working in this building and travelling into East Finchley every day, there’s a genuine connection to the area and a real willingness to support the community. You can see that generosity every time we run a collection.

“We collect all year round, but we really step things up in the run‑up to Christmas and through to the end of January, as well as during the summer holidays when families can need extra support. The restaurant team sets up donation baskets around the office to make it easy for people to get involved.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to all the Finchley Foodbank volunteers – you do an incredible job supporting the community. It’s an amazing operation, and I’m really looking forward to continuing to work together in the future.”
