Finchley Foodbank Volunteer Digital Champions 

Location

Finchley Foodbank, St Mary’s Parish Centre, 279 High Road London N2 8HG 

Time

Champions will need to be available a minimum of twice a month at client sessions on either Tuesdays and/or Saturdays 11.30am-2pm 

Reports to

Foodbank Information and Support Lead / Foodbank Manager 

Role purpose

This role is designed to help clients to use computers, tablets and smartphones to search the internet safely. Digital Champions will also signpost people to help so they can access benefits and grants, navigate websites and online portals for services. 

Main duties and responsibilities

We ask that Digital Champions are able to: 

● explain technology in simple terms 

● signpost clients to support with using internet across the borough e.g. in libraries 

● signpost clients to find help e.g. to access benefits, grants and services; with job searches 

● distribute SIM cards and vouchers following agreed criteria 

● support clients to use an online benefits calculator 

Digital Champions must:

● Have good verbal and written communication skills 

● Adhere to foodbank policies including safeguarding, GDPR and health and safety 

● Sign our Volunteer Agreement
